Major Updates Across the Forge Platform
Improved Highlighting and Citation Tools
Hot on the heels of the recently released highlight-and-cite feature, we’re introducing a major enhancement. You are now able to select multiple highlights across multiple articles and generate a single set of formatted citations. These can be exported in bulk or downloaded as a consolidated RIS file, eliminating the need to process each citation individually.
This step-by-step demonstration video shows how to use the existing and upcoming features.
Audiobook Production Has Begun
We’re pleased to confirm that audiobook production is underway. The first ten titles have been recorded and are currently in their final acceptance phase. Once accepted, they will be released on the Forge website, the upcoming Forge Mobile App, and eventually on major platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Other existing Forge audio content—including Defence Doctrine audiobooks and recordings of the Grey Oration—will follow soon after.
Forge Mobile App Launching Soon
The Forge Mobile App has passed final User Acceptance Testing, and a full release will come as soon as we have the necessary approvals. Designed for learning on the go, the app mirrors the website’s functionality in a streamlined mobile interface. It includes a simplified audio navigation system and full support for highlighting and citation.
All registered users will have access to familiar tools and features through the app, which will be freely available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Forums: A New Space for Peer Engagement
A major step forward in user interaction, Forge forums are set to launch before the end of Quarter 3. These forums will allow users to connect and share ideas related to the JPME Continuum and their own PME experiences.
Unlike comments on articles, forum posts will appear immediately without prior moderation to encourage open dialogue. To safeguard users in this freer environment, a report function will be available. Any flagged posts will be reviewed by the Forge team to ensure a safe and respectful space for discussion.
Newsletters Coming Later This Year
Forge newsletters are in development and are expected to roll out later in the year. Initially, each issue will recap publications from the previous quarter to help users stay current. Over time, we will broaden the scope and depth of newsletter content.
If there’s something specific that you’d like to see included, we welcome your suggestions—use the feedback form or contribute directly to the forthcoming newsletter forum.
