GPCAPT Brown is now a Reserve officer who serves in the Centre for Defence Leadership and Ethics at the Australian Defence College. Many of the units he has been posted to have included APS staff. He was a public servant before he joined the RAAF being employed with the Department of Industry and Commerce (Australian Customs Service), Department of Territories and Local Government, and the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service. His interests are organisational culture, human behaviours, leadership, and ethics.
