Lieutenant Colonel Leigh Scott Crawford

Lieutenant Colonel Crawford has completed multiple operational deployments, including the Solomon Islands (J3, 2006); Iraq (Capability study into Sense and Warn 2007); East Timor (J3/CoS 2009); and as a Military Advisor to the United Nations mission in Afghanistan (2014-2015). From 2016-2019 he was selected under a global competitive recruitment campaign to represent the ADF as a strategic planner in the Office of Military Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat in New York. During this secondment, he led military planning to orchestrate the United Nations redeployment into the Syrian side of the Golan. Lieutenant Colonel Crawford was also a key member in high-level reviews and military planning in Cyprus, Libya, Mali and Kashmir.
